OUR MISSION
Soul Shine Birth is a unique doula duo bringing in over ten years of experience to pave the way for better birth and postpartum outcomes. Kelsey and Rori work together as birth and postpartum doulas to provide the highest quality care for their clients whom they say "start as clients and stay as friends". They are both breastfeeding and childbirth educators, which they bring into their intimate doula support. Passion shines through in all they do, as they uphold their mission: "to change lives, empower families and make positive birth outcomes reality by providing the tools, love and resources as your dream support team".
OUR STORY
We're deep believers in divine alignment.

In 2020, Kelsey returned from a seven-month soul-searching backpacking trip around the world. She had a previous life in software sales but knew life had a deeper purpose with hands of healing. In a dream, the sacred doula life chose her and just three short days later she met Rori at a casual doula meet-up.

Rori had already been doing doula work for four years and she'd come to the meet-up from an incredibly empowering birth and the high was contagious. We instantly knew we’d become fast friends. We had an energetic connection, similar to the feeling our clients feel when they meet with us. It didn’t take long for us to realize we have so much in common in our personal and professional lives, as well as in our roots. It's as if our souls were sisters in a past life.

We both intuitively had the inner knowing that this sacred work couldn’t be done alone. We often say it takes a village to raise a baby and to raise a mother. The same goes for birth workers: it takes a village to support one another, so we can continue to serve our families from an abundant space.

Together, we recognized a need for more personalized doula care, full-spectrum childbirth education and for the intimate community during pregnancy. This is the moment when we knew Soul Shine Birth was ready to be born. Soul Shine Birth brings together both of our special gifts and over eight years of experience into a unique duo doula approach. We're believers in this approach because it allows us to both intimately get to know our clients while ensuring they always have someone available to lean on. It becomes a beautiful birth and postpartum team when we work together with our families, and we dedicate our lives to ensure there's always a feeling of safe, supportive, and connected care.
Our souls coming together was serendipitous, but our work now is because of the deep passion and dedication we share for this sacred work. We’re forever students continually expanding our birth knowledge because we believe in better birth outcomes. It's our joy and privilege to invite you into this beautiful space with us!

CONNECTION TO NATURE
We're both SoCal transplants, and it's our connection to the ocean that brought us here. In our free time, you'll find us together surfing, hiking and taking weekend trips to the mountains.
SPIRITUALITY
We believe in the power of manifestation and a daily gratitude practice. In our daily lives, you'll often find us smudging our homes, carrying crystals, doing moon ceremonies, chanting affirmations and playing our sound bowls.
HOLISTIC PRACTICES
Need an oil, an herb or a holistic remedy? We've got you! Yoga, acupuncture, chiropractic care, a daily dose of vitamin D and clean diets are how we love to support the bodies that carry us.
