Kelsey Scott
Soul Shine Birth Co-Founder
Birth + Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, Breastfeeding Educator and Blessingway Keeper
San Clemente, CA
For as long as Kelsey can remember, she’s been captivated by birth and babies. As a child, she proudly curated an impressive baby doll collection, and one of the first shows she recalls watching on repeat was TLC’s A Baby Story. Her journey to birth work wasn’t linear—she once worked in tech sales—but looking back, she sees how each unexpected turn revealed pieces of her soul’s true purpose.
In 2020, after a seven-month solo backpacking journey around the world, Kelsey felt a clear calling to work intimately with women. Today, she feels incredibly blessed to be living her life’s purpose as both a mama and a doula. She's especially passionate about supporting families through fertility and miscarriage, drawing from her own deeply personal journey into motherhood.
Kelsey’s presence is a blend of grounded, nurturing care and radiant, intuitive guidance. Her two home birth experiences profoundly deepened her reverence for birth and strengthened her belief in women’s innate power and wisdom. Having walked through two natural births herself, her tools, understanding and capacity to hold space have expanded in meaningful ways.
Through her holistic, heart-centered approach, Kelsey helps women reconnect with their inner wisdom—trusting their bodies, instincts and unique path through pregnancy, birth and beyond. She provides supportive guidance, evidence-based resources and personalized care, so every mother feels informed, empowered and confident at every step.

Aurora Sullivan
Soul Shine Birth Co-Founder
Birth + Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, Breastfeeding Educator, Blessingway Keeper and
Placenta Encapsulator
San Clemente, CA
Aurora has felt the pull toward birth, babies and the postpartum journey for as long as she can remember. That innate knowing has shaped everything, leading her to become a doula in 2017 and deepening into a lifelong devotion to walking alongside women through some of the most sacred moments of their lives.
Aurora's approach is holistic, nurturing and deeply rooted in the belief that every woman deserves to feel informed, seen and fiercely supported in her own vision. She doesn't bring an agenda to your birth; she brings presence, knowledge and an unwavering commitment to helping you achieve the experience you are reaching for. Whether she's supporting a birth, teaching a childbirth education class, mentoring a new doula into her power or encapsulating a placenta, she shows up with her whole heart.
A lifelong learner, Aurora is always expanding her offerings and is currently deepening her practice in the art of belly binding. She holds labor and postpartum with equal reverence, understanding that the work doesn't end when the baby arrives. Women deserve that same level of care on the other side, and Aurora shows up for that too.
Aurora doesn't have children of her own, but anyone who knows her knows that has never once limited the love she gives. She is a natural giver, the kind of person who pours her whole heart into the people around her. This work isn't just a career for her. It's where all of that love has a home.
An East Coast girl whose soul found its sunshine in California, and that warmth is exactly who shows up for you. She recharges at the beach, book in hand, body in motion, face toward the sun and brings that same radiant, grounded energy to every family she is honored to serve.

Cristina Merino-LaDuke
Birth Doula and Breastfeeding Educator
Orange, CA
Cristina is a loving wife and mother of two, and her reverence for birth has been present for as long as she can remember. But it was her own first birth that lit a fire in her, and her second that made it undeniable. She knew she was being called to this work.
She became a certified traditional birth doula and breastfeeding educator because she wanted to be the support she wished she'd had: a knowledgeable, grounding presence who could help mothers feel genuinely prepared, not just informed. There's a difference, and Cristina knows it.
As you prepare for birth, Cristina will listen to your wishes, help you work through your fears and guide you back to the intuitive power you already carry as a mother. You know more than you think. Trusting that is the first step, in birth and in motherhood.
Pregnancy and birth are wonderfully unique to every woman. However yours unfolds, it's Cristina's wish that you and your partner feel safe, supported and held, and gently reminded of just how powerful you are. She is honored to walk that path with you.

Wendy Radin
Birth Doula and Breastfeeding Educator
Laguna Beach, CA
Wendy has felt called to walk alongside women in birth for as long as she can remember. After welcoming her third child, she began teaching with the Childbirth Education Association, which opened the door for her to attend many different kinds of births. She’s held space in hospitals and homes, supported cesarean births, witnessed a breech birth at home, one almost in the car and even a birth out in the middle of nowhere without electricity. Each one was unique, and each one she considers an incredible gift.
In 2000, Wendy pursued doula training full-time and later deepened her hands-on experience through an internship with South Coast Midwifery. She completed that training in September 2021, gaining the honor of attending multiple births and further strengthening her practice.
As a doula today, Wendy’s heart is to help birthing women and their partners step into birth as a united, empowered team. She has trained with DONA, Lamaze, Hypnobabies and Gilligan’s Guide—a movement-based series of exercises designed to help babies find an optimal birthing position.
Wendy brings knowledge, compassion and a deeply calming presence to every birth space. She is not there to judge or take over, but to offer grounding support and guidance so that you feel held, informed and at ease. Her greatest joy is helping families experience birth as positive, empowering and deeply memorable.

Amber Soto
Birth Doula and Breastfeeding Educator
Aliso Viejo, CA
Amber grew up in a bustling family, and from a young age she found herself fascinated by pregnancy and the journey into motherhood. Watching her mother navigate it all planted something in her early. As she got older and began figuring out her path, she kept finding her way back to women's health.
That pull became a calling. Her experience working alongside midwives at Hoag Irvine deepened her passion for supporting families during one of the most significant moments of their lives, and she hasn't looked back since.
Amber believes every birth experience is unique and deserves to be honored as such. She leads with warmth, encourages open communication and loves cultivating a sense of community with the families she serves. Her holistic approach and genuinely approachable nature make her a presence people trust quickly and lean on deeply.
Recently, Amber became a mama herself. She now brings that firsthand experience to her work, and a whole new layer of understanding for what families are stepping into. When she's not supporting families, you can find her at the beach with her babe and two pups, cozied up at a coffee shop with her husband or traveling somewhere that feeds her spirit. She cherishes the small moments just as much as the big ones, and that shows in the way she cares for her clients.

Amanda McCarroll
Birth Doula, Breastfeeding Educator, Prenatal Yoga Instructor and Bodyworker
La Jolla, San Diego, CA
Amanda has been fascinated by birth work since her early 20s, when her best friend had a home birth and her eyes were opened to the idea that labor and birth are a transformative journey to be celebrated, not feared. She leads with her heart and has no agenda; she supports and welcomes all preferences, from an unmedicated home birth to a planned C-section. She intends to be an encouraging and calming presence for women as they experience the incredible rite of passage of becoming a mother—whether for the first, second, or any time.
When Amanda had each of her two sons, she learned firsthand that birth is an unpredictable journey that teaches us to surrender and go with the flow. There is a certain amount of preparation and education we can do to get ready for labor and delivery, yet there are also factors we cannot control. Part of her work as a doula is to help women find a balance between preparedness and understanding, along with the realization that we must be along for the ride—open and ready for however each particular birth is meant to unfold.
Amanda has spent the last 25 years as a yoga and fitness instructor, as well as a bodyworker. She recently closed her yoga studio after ten years in La Jolla to focus more fully on teaching and working exclusively with women, supporting them as they become mothers through her work as a doula, prenatal yoga instructor and gentle bodyworker. She continues to teach group yoga and fitness classes, with prenatal specialties, in person and online.

Leisly Martinez
Birth + Postpartum Doula and Breastfeeding Educator
Escondido, CA
Leisly's path into birth work started in the clinic. After seven years working alongside OBGYN practices, she had seen enough to know where the gaps were, and where she could fill them. Families needed someone in their corner who could bridge the clinical and the human. That's the doula she became.
She draws on her Mexican heritage to offer bilingual support and weaves traditional practices into her care in meaningful ways. The rebozo is a tool she uses with intention during labor, offering physical comfort and a thread of cultural continuity. In the postpartum period, she honors the tradition of la cuarentena, holding space for mothers to rest and recover, and prepares warm, nourishing meals to help them regain strength and settle into the rhythm of new motherhood.
For Leisly, this work is a personal calling. Witnessing the love and connection that floods in when a new baby arrives never gets old. It fills her up every time. When she's not with families, you'll find her out in nature, curled up with a good book or making memories with the people she loves—equally happy on an outdoor adventure as she is in a cozy evening at home.

Sophia Tea
Birth + Postpartum Doula, RN, Breastfeeding Educator and Belly Binding Specialist
Corona, CA
Sophia’s journey into birth work has been shaped by a love for caring for others and creating meaningful connections. Originally from the Philippines, she built a career in entrepreneurial management and opened a café in 2018 where she discovered her gift for creating spaces that made people feel at home. But something deeper kept calling her. She wanted to support women in a more personal way, especially during the moments that change everything.
That calling led her to the United States in 2022 and eventually into healthcare, where she became a licensed Registered Nurse with a growing focus on women's health. Through her nursing training and hands-on experience in maternity care, she realized she wanted to offer families something more continuous and personal than the hospital setting allowed. She trained as both a birth and postpartum doula through DONA International and continues expanding her practice through traditional and holistic methods, including Rebozo techniques, belly binding and her ongoing Yue Sao certification in traditional Chinese postpartum care.
Sophia believes birth work and bread baking share something in common. Both require patience, trust in the process and a little bit of magic. She bakes sourdough, she creates nourishing food for the people she loves and she brings that same slow, intentional care into every home she enters.
Through her work as a doula, Sophia supports families with a calm presence, thoughtful guidance and heartfelt care so they feel informed, empowered and deeply held as they welcome their babies.

Alexa Brijandez
Birth Doula and Breastfeeding Educator
Murrieta, CA
Alexa's journey into birth work started long before any training or certification. At 12 years old, she witnessed the birth of her youngest sister. Then she watched her mother navigate the postpartum period, and stepped in to help. That experience planted something deep, and it never left her.
She's been the nurturing one for as long as anyone can remember. Friends, family, the people closest to her have always turned to Alexa when life gets big. Holding space during meaningful moments isn't something she learned. It's just who she is.
Alexa completed a DONA International Approved Birth Doula Workshop through Birth Matters and brings something rare to her work: she's a nationally certified Spanish medical interpreter. That means bilingual families aren't just supported emotionally; they're supported in understanding exactly what's happening, asking the right questions and making decisions that feel truly theirs.
Although Alexa doesn't have children of her own yet, she's a proud auntie to two little boys. She knows what it means to love a child fiercely. And she brings that same energy to every family she serves. Alexa supports families through prenatal prep, birth preference planning, labor support, partner guidance, and postpartum care throughout the Inland Empire in English and in Spanish.
